We have an exceptional sunken fire pit and sunken Jacuzzi area here. Although we had planned it for months, we weren't happy with the layout on the first day. So, we changed the plan and went with the flow. The result is an amazing project that we're very proud of.
First, we ran all the services like gas, electric, water pipes, data cables, and drainage. We then dug the sunken fire pit area, installed a concrete foundation with drainage going into a sump tank with its own pump, and blocked up the fire pit seating. We sealed it to make it waterproof from any water table that might rise in winter.
Once the blockwork was finished, and all services were in, we had a custom granite worktop made. It incorporated two gas burners and two ice buckets, which were insulated from each other to give the best of both worlds. We placed LED light strips under the granite top and data points in the seating, so the customer could work from home but enjoy the lovely weather outdoors.
Next, we dug out the Jacuzzi area and installed a sump tank and pump, which went to a soakaway. Once the blockwork was done around the Jacuzzi area, we used engineer bricks and blockwork to retain the large patio, wrapping both the Jacuzzi and fire pit together. We installed LED strips on the outer side of the patio, which flowed around the whole area, giving a unique and spectacular finish.
All the patio was high-quality porcelain, which goes well with the house and is in keeping with its style. This project is definitely one of a kind and holds a key spot in our portfolio of what we can achieve when given the opportunity.
