Complete Garden Makeover Services

We manage every aspect of the build, meaning you only ever deal with one company. Our “concept to completion” service covers the two main elements of landscaping:

Hard Landscaping (The Structure) This is the backbone of any garden design. We build the permanent features that define the space.

  • Patios & Pathways: creating dining areas using Porcelain, Indian Sandstone, or Limestone.
  • Retaining Walls: Using brick or sleepers to manage slopes and create terraced levels.
  • Fencing & Privacy: Installing decorative panels and secure boundaries.
  • Water Features: From bespoke ponds to modern water blades.

Soft Landscaping (The Living Elements)
Once the structure is in place, we soften the look with planting.

  • Turfing: Laying fresh, cultivated lawn turf on prepared topsoil.
  • Planting Schemes: Sourcing and planting trees, shrubs, and hedges to add height and colour.
  • Raised Beds: Building timber sleeper beds filled with nutrient-rich compost for vegetable patches or flower displays.

Our Landscaping Process

A successful garden renovation requires careful planning and execution. We follow a proven process to ensure your project runs smoothly and stays on budget.

Site Consultation

We visit your property to discuss your ideas, measure the space, and assess the ground conditions (soil type, drainage, and access).

Design & Quotation

We provide a detailed proposal outlining the materials, layout, and costs. For complex projects, we can provide design sketches to help you visualise the final result.

Site Clearance & Groundworks

This is the messy part, but the most important. We use our own diggers to clear the site, remove old concrete, and install proper drainage systems to prevent future waterlogging.

Construction

Our skilled landscapers install the hard landscaping features, ensuring all sub-bases and footings are compliant with building standards.

Planting & Handover

We lay the turf and complete the planting before cleaning the site thoroughly. We then walk you through your new garden to ensure you are 100% satisfied.

Why Choose Breckland Paving & Landscaping?

We Are Builders, Not Just Gardeners Many “landscapers” lack the construction knowledge to build walls that stay up or patios that don’t sink. Our background in groundworks and paving means your garden is built on solid foundations.

One Team, In-House We do not rely on unreliable subcontractors. The team you meet on day one is the team that stays until the job is done. This ensures consistent quality and clear communication throughout the project.

Local Knowledge We understand the specific soil conditions across Norfolk—from the sandy soils of the coast to the heavy clay of South Norfolk. This allows us to recommend the right plants and the right drainage solutions for your specific location.

How much does a garden landscaping project cost?

Every project is unique. A simple patio and turf replacement will cost significantly less than a full terraced garden with retaining walls. We provide itemised, fixed-price quotations so you can see exactly where your budget is going.

Yes, for larger projects, we work with professional garden designers to create 3D renders. This helps you see exactly how the light, materials, and planting will look before we break ground.

We work year-round. While spring and summer are the most popular times to enjoy the garden, autumn and winter are actually ideal for the construction phase. Building in the off-season means your garden is ready to bloom as soon as the sun comes out.

Most garden landscaping is considered “Permitted Development.” However, there are rules regarding front garden paving (permeability) and fences over 2 meters high. We are fully up to date with UK planning laws and will advise you if permission is needed.

Recent Garden Transformations Across Norfolk

Take a look at our complete garden transformations. These projects showcase how we bring designs to life, combining hard landscaping features like sleepers, fencing, and turfing with functional layouts. See how we turn tired gardens into beautiful outdoor living spaces tailored to each client’s lifestyle.

What was done

This luxury garden feature centred on a bespoke sunken seating area, requiring careful excavation and drainage to create a level, well-drained entertaining space below the lawn. The photos show the build progressing from rendered retaining walls and a stepped descent through to the finished paving, with a central fire pit feature topped in dark stone and set with gas flame troughs. Large-format pale paving runs across the main terrace and steps, with a smart pathway leading down into the sunken zone. A hot tub and a polished stainless steel water-feature sphere complete the layout.

The finished look

The finished garden is striking and contemporary: crisp grey paving frames a generous lawn, with the sunken lounge giving a sheltered, sociable spot at its heart. By night the fire pit glows against the rendered walls, turning the space into a dramatic outdoor room. It is a unique, design-led landscaped garden built for year-round entertaining.

What was done

This complete transformation in Stoke Ferry turned an outdoor space into a low-maintenance entertaining garden. The team handled all groundworks and drainage, including a 400mm sub-base and precise grading for seamless transitions between surfaces. Smooth porcelain pavers were laid and connected by Kota limestone setts, with decorative gravel and concrete edging giving crisp definition. To enclose and finish the space, brick walls and an automatic gate were installed. Premium materials were paired with careful construction throughout.

The finished look

The finished garden has a high-end, architectural feel: pale porcelain squares are separated by neat gravel-filled joints and limestone setts, creating a smart grid that wraps around the house and links to the gravel driveway. Brick walls and the automatic gate add privacy and kerb appeal, while the decorative gravel keeps maintenance low. The aerial views show a tidy, well-defined layout ready for dining and relaxing. What was done

This complete garden overhaul in Attleborough started from a tired lawn and old pond, and was rebuilt into a relaxed, characterful space. The team laid a new Raj blend Indian sandstone patio, shaping it around sweeping lawns and a newly enlarged pond fitted with armoured electrics. The pond was finished with a generous pebble surround and block-paved edging to the grass. New fencing was installed along the side using concrete posts and concrete gravel boards with close-board panels, and fresh turf completed the planted areas.

The finished look

The finished garden has a warm, rustic feel: the riven sandstone shows natural variation in tone that deepens beautifully when wet, while the curving lawns and pebble-ringed pond give the layout a soft, organic flow. Block-edged turf and crisp new fencing tie the space together, and the aerial views show how the patio, lawns and water feature work as one cohesive design. Browse more of our garden landscaping.

What was done

After two other companies told the customer that curved porcelain was impossible to cut and lay, the team took on the challenge in Wymondham. They laid a large smoke grey porcelain patio that sweeps around the house and out toward the garden in a bold curved shape, edged throughout with a dark slate sett border that follows every curve cleanly. Recessed drainage chamber lids were also fitted, infilled with the same porcelain so the access points blend almost invisibly into the patio rather than showing as plastic covers.

The finished look

The result is a striking, contemporary surface. The smoke grey porcelain has a subtle linear grain and a smart, consistent tone, while the slate sett border traces the sweeping curves to give the whole patio a deliberate, designed feel. The recessed lids sit flush and discreet, keeping the look uninterrupted while preserving easy access to the drainage chambers below. Wrapping neatly from the side path around to the main seating area, it is a clean, low-maintenance space that makes the most of the garden. A confident piece of paving and landscaping.
