Small Garden Modernisation  | Wymondham, Norfolk

What was done

This compact rear garden in Wymondham was reworked to make the most of a tight space. The team laid a run of ocean grey porcelain paving finished with a contrasting natural slate sett border, creating a crisp, low-maintenance surface that runs from the house out toward the lawn. A timber raised sleeper bed was built along the boundary fence and filled with soil ready for planting, and drainage channels were installed to manage surface water and keep the new paving dry underfoot.

The finished look

The result is a simple but effective layout that lifts the whole garden. The pale grey porcelain sits neatly against the dark slate edging for a clean, modern contrast, while the raised sleeper bed adds warmth and a ready-made spot for planting. With a tidy lawn alongside the paving, the space now feels usable and well defined rather than awkward and unfinished. A smart example of how thoughtful garden landscaping can make a small plot work hard.

Porcelain Patio & Artificial Grass | Spixworth

What was done

In Spixworth we replaced a tired, uneven lawn with a smart new outdoor space combining a sleek grey porcelain patio and a low-maintenance artificial grass lawn. The patio was laid in large-format light grey porcelain, finished with a striking inset border in contrasting dark paving that frames a seating zone beside the house. A neat shingle margin runs along the brickwork, and the planting beds are retained with timber sleeper edging to keep the lawn and borders clean and defined.

The finished look

The result is a crisp, contemporary garden that works hard all year round. The pale porcelain reflects the light and stays clean underfoot, while the dark border detail adds a designer touch around the dining and lounging area. With a mud-free lawn and tidy planted edges, it’s an easy-care space that’s ready to enjoy whatever the Norfolk weather — ideal for family life and entertaining.

Out With The Old In With The New

What was done

This complete garden makeover centres on a Bianco Cream porcelain patio (from Paving Stones Direct), enhanced with a contrasting slate border that follows a sweeping curved edge between paving and lawn. To complement the porcelain we built raised beds using railway sleepers, chosen for their durability and long life. We also made the back fence rabbit-proof after the customer’s garden kept being invaded, and supplied and fitted two custom-made sheds along with their bases.

The finished look

The pale cream porcelain gives the garden a bright, clean and contemporary feel, with the dark slate edging neatly defining the generous curved patio against the fresh lawn. The robust sleeper beds add warmth and structure for planting, while the matching timber sheds provide smart, practical storage. Together it’s a tidy, hard-wearing and welcoming space that’s set up to be enjoyed for years to come.

Complete Front To Back | Northwold, Norfolk

What was done

This was a full front-to-back transformation in Northwold. Despite frequent bad weather, we completed extensive groundworks including two new soakaways, removing the old boundary wall, and raising the lawn and cesspit chamber to a new level. We then laid around 120m² of beautiful ivory cream porcelain paving, built raised sleeper planters and retaining walls, and extended the driveway — fitting gravel grids at the entrance to stop stone migration.

The finished look

The completed garden is bright, generous and beautifully ordered, with the pale ivory porcelain flowing across multiple levels and through a striking shingle-channel inset. The timber sleeper planters add warmth and useful growing space, while the contrasting dark sett edging frames the paving against fresh lawn. Out front, the extended gravel-grid driveway gives clean, practical parking. Front and back, it’s a genuine “wow” difference for the homeowners.

Retaining Sleeper Wall | Thetford, Norfolk

What was done

Our team built a timber sleeper retaining wall with integrated steps in Thetford, using machine-cut sleepers to hold back the soil and create a clear change in level. The sleepers were stacked and fixed to form a solid retaining structure along the boundary, with a flight of wide steps set into the run to give comfortable access up from the lower paved area to the garden above. The work tied neatly into the existing stone-effect paving that runs alongside the wall and house.

The finished look

The finished sleeper wall has a warm, modern feel, with the rich tones of the timber contrasting against the cooler paving beside it. The clean horizontal lines of the stacked sleepers and the generous, evenly spaced steps make the level change feel intentional and easy to use rather than awkward. It is a durable, long-lasting solution for soil retention, and the customer was really happy with the outcome, mentioning having us back for future work.

Indian Sandstone Transformation

What was done

This was a tidy transformation for a couple in Attleborough. The team installed a new Indian sandstone patio in the corner of the garden, finished with a light shingle margin against the boundary wall. A neat artificial grass lawn was laid across the centre, edged with stone setts for a crisp, durable border, and a low raised sleeper bed was built along the fence line ready for decorative planting. A small timber deck completes the seating area.

The finished look

The result is a smart, easy-care garden that makes the most of a modest space. The riven sandstone gives a warm, natural seating area for the hanging chair and sofa, while the bright, level artificial lawn stays green and mud-free all year. The sett edging and timber sleeper bed add definition and warmth, tying the corten brick walls, deck and planting together into a relaxed, low-maintenance retreat.

Bovis Estate | Wymondham, Norfolk

What was done

This estate garden in Wymondham was designed and built to blend modern and rustic finishes. The team laid a large grey porcelain patio across the lower level, set against the house with a drainage channel running along the wall. Timber sleepers were used to retain a raised level and frame planting beds, with a turf lawn laid above and a decorative shingle margin between the paving and the grass. New planting and a fresh fence line complete the landscaped scheme.

The finished look

The contrast is the heart of this garden: the cool, shiny grey porcelain plays against the warm, earthy tone of the wooden sleepers for a look that is both sleek and welcoming. The raised lawn and sleeper-edged beds add gentle structure and depth, while the generous patio gives plenty of room for seating and play. It is a visually striking yet genuinely low-maintenance space the family can enjoy easily.

Large Raj Green Sandstone Patio

What was done

This project was a complete garden overhaul. The team began with full groundworks, bringing in a mini digger to strip out the old surface and prepare the levels before laying a large Raj Green Indian sandstone patio. The multi-tone sandstone runs around the rear of the house and steps down to a lower terrace, with the change in level framed by oak sleeper retainers that double as a raised flower bed. Brand-new fencing was installed to the boundary, and the remaining ground was prepared and laid to fresh turf.

The finished look

The finished garden is warm and inviting, with the naturally varied Raj Green sandstone showing rich pinks, golds and greys that deepen when wet. The split-level layout creates clear zones, the timber sleepers add an earthy contrast to the stone, and the new lawn and crisp fence line give the whole space a tidy, well-defined finish ready for everyday use and entertaining.

Ultra Modern Garden | Norwich, Norfolk

What was done

This was a front-and-back transformation in Norwich. To the rear, the team installed a curved porcelain patio finished with artificial grass for low-maintenance, year-round use, and built oak sleeper beds to provide a planting area, along with modern lighting to open up the space. At the front, the area was cleared and the ground level reduced, with further oak sleepers forming a planting bed and decorative panda ice gravel laid to lift the kerb appeal. A dark grey stone-effect stepping-stone path runs through the gravel between the raised beds.

The finished look

The finished garden has a clean, contemporary feel. Smooth grey porcelain sits neatly against the bright artificial lawn, while the warm timber sleeper beds soften the modern palette and the pale gravel keeps the front looking sharp and easy to care for. The stepping-stone path adds rhythm and structure, and recessed manhole detailing keeps the surfaces uninterrupted.

Sunken Fire Pit

What was done

The centrepiece of this full garden makeover is a sunken gas fire pit, set into a rendered seating area finished with 3D stone cladding and built-in steps down from the surrounding garden. The wider project included new porcelain paths wrapping around the house and a porcelain patio outside the summer house, all edged with slate and flamed granite. The team built raised oak sleeper beds with bollard lights and spotlights, and created a brand-new lawn from what had previously been a very uneven garden.

The finished look

The result is a striking, sociable space built around the sunken fire pit, where rendered walls form a sheltered conversation area at the heart of the garden. The crisp porcelain paving and granite edgings give clean lines throughout, the planted sleeper beds add greenery and structure, and the integrated lighting brings the garden to life after dark, with illuminated paths and beds glowing into the evening.
