We laid a new patio in Marshalls Aluri Rustic Ochre limestone, set out in a random mixed-size pattern across the full width of the garden. The paving was finished with a sweeping curved border created from black granite setts, which frames the area and softens the transition to the lawn. The whole surface was pointed with stone grey EASYJoint for a clean, hard-wearing finish. Photos also show a mini-digger on site clearing the old slabs and preparing the ground, so this involved a proper dig-out and sub-base before the new patio went down.
The completed limestone patio has a lovely warm, earthy tone, with the ochre, gold and grey shades of each slab giving plenty of natural variation. The dark granite sett edging provides a crisp contrast against the lighter stone and follows a gentle curve that feels generous and relaxed rather than boxy. Set against the brick of the house, it makes an inviting, low-maintenance space ready for garden furniture.
